The Vampire Facelift is an in-office procedure that involves using your own blood to rejuvenate your face. The procedure is simple. We draw a small amount of blood (20cc-55cc) from the patient’s own arm, then spin the blood in a centrifuge to separate out the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). Platelets are small cells in the blood that are involved in the clotting process. They also release growth factors that stimulate collagen production. Next, we inject the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) into age-affected (collagen-poor) areas of the face. Because Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) contains growth factors, it can accelerate the repair and regeneration of collagen. The result is a more youthful appearance. The next step is to use the rest of the patient’s blood as a biofiller. By injecting biofiller made from the patient’s own blood, we can fill out lines, depressions, and wrinkles in the skin. Target areas might include lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines, periorbital lines (crow’s feet), nasolabial folds, vertical lip lines, and marionette lines (lines from the corners of the mouth to the chin). Since the filler is your own blood, there is no risk of allergic reaction. The injections can yield wonderful results on the face as well as on the neck, arms, and hands.

How Vampire Facelift Works?

Many people have heard of using Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections for treating injuries. The procedure has gained popularity among several pro athletes. When it is applied cosmetically, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) uses many of the same principles. Collagen declines as we age— it begins to shrink, triggering a tightening and strengthening of the skin. So when it is restored, it’s a veritable fountain of youth. In the Vampire Facelift procedure, injecting Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) causes a mild inflammation that triggers healing. A number of enzymes and growth factors are released at the age-affected site. These components attract stem cells to repair the area. As a result, new collagen begins to develop. The result is a remodeling of the tissue to a healthier and younger look.

A Simple, Safe Procedure with Great Results

The Vampire Facelift procedure takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Generally, two or three treatments are advised. However, sometimes one injection is all that it takes to get great results that can erase years from your looks. Many find that the results last for one to two years before a follow-up procedure is necessary.
